Renewables and other clean technologies could keep taking a bigger and bigger piece of the UK energy sector, but will require a more “holistic” view of usage and supply, according to David Hunt of Hyperion Executive Search.

Hunt, who is a specialist recruiter and headhunter in renewables with a background as a solar installer himself, spoke to Clean Energy News at the launch of Clean Energy Live. The show takes place for the first time ever in October and incorporates the existing annual Solar Energy UK (SEUK) exhibition and conference, now in its seventh year.

Alongside SEUK and the first ever Energy Storage UK show, Clean Energy Live will also include two other new offerings, Renewable Heat UK and Energy Management UK.

“The lack of subsidy is actually a great opportunity for industries to start thinking in a more holistic fashion,” Hunt, who is also chair of the Energy Storage Alliance and an advisor to the Renewable Energy Agency, said.

“The whole clean energy sector is interesting.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
