The Company
Our Client is a dynamic and rapidly growing company operating in the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure sector. Founded in 2017, the company provides comprehensive solutions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of EV charge points (EVCPs) across the UK and several other jurisdictions. As the leading charge point operator (CPO) in certain regions, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on the significant growth opportunities presented by the transition to electric vehicles.
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Non-Executive Chairperson to join our client's board of directors. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic direction, ensuring effective governance, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
As the Chair, you will be responsible for:
- Leadership: Providing strategic leadership to the board, setting the agenda, and facilitating productive discussions.
- Governance: Ensuring the highest standards of corporate governance, including compliance with regulations and ethical practices.
- Strategy: Working closely with the CEO and board to develop and implement long-term strategic plans.
- Risk Management: Overseeing risk management processes and mitigating potential risks to the business.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Representing the company in communications with shareholders, investors, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
- Crisis Management: Leading the board through challenging times and providing steady guidance during crises.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience as a Chair or Board member of a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME).
- A strong understanding of the EV industry, whilst not strictly essential, would be advantageous.
- The ability to build strong working relationships with the CEO and other executive team members.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to inspire and motivate the board towards a common goal.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and foster positive relationships.
- A strong focus on risk awareness and mitigation.
