Overview
Our client, a European Smart Battery Storage Solutions provider, is seeking a highly accomplished and experienced UK Country Director to spearhead their commercial and operational growth in the UK, on the back of early success in customer and partner acquisition,
You will be responsible for further developing and closing new Battery Energy Storage business in the UK’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector.
Here is your chance to play a vital role in the ambitious growth vision of an exciting new European Battery Storage brand. Having grown impressively in Benelux, our client is now expanding geographically (Germany, Belgium already) with the UK the next key growth market.
You will have chance to build and lead a UK team comprising Sales, Marketing & Branding, Project Management with strong wider support from the central Operations, Product & Engineering, and Strategic Business Development and Analysis.
Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Market Development: Drive new business opportunities and close sales agreements with C&I customers (Integrators, Developers, IPPs, and major Installers) leading to growth in UK market share

Strategy: Development and implementation of the UK sales and operational strategies, annual budgets, execution action plans for reaching targets, working in close conjunction with Senior Management in the Netherlands

Customer Acquisition: Identify, qualify, and cultivate new business opportunities, establishing strong relationships with potential clients and closing deals effectively.

Team Building & Management: Lead the development and execution of the UK people strategy, building a cohesive, a high-functioning local team in Sales, Marketing & Comms, Projects etc.

Account Management: Oversee the management of existing customer accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty through exceptional service and support.

Partner Management: Manage and grow existing strategic partnerships with key industry players, and develop new partnership opportunities to further support business growth in the UK C&I sector

Business Development: Working closely with the central BD team, you will explore new long-term business avenues to expand the company's reach and revenue streams, based on thorough market research, competitor analysis, and opportunity analysis.

Profitability: Increase revenue, profitability and cash flow for the company according to KPIs

Marketing: Overseeing the regional marketing and communications
The Person
This role requires someone that can demonstrate significant success in the Battery Storage sector in the UK, and a proven track record at Country Director / Sales Director level.
Qualifications / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.

Previous experience in a Sales Leadership role such as Country Manager, Sales Director etc.

Successful independent sales track record over multiple years, with the hunger to still lead sales growth from the front

Strong, recent experience with Battery / ESS solutions (HW & SW an advantage)

Strong experience, knowledge, and network in the UK Commercial & Industrial (C&I) / Behind-the-Meter segments

Experience in both Direct B2B sales and Channel / Partner Management, in line with the company's GtM approach

Leadership: Experience in building, managing and motivating teams, with commercial and operational management responsibilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Entrepreneurial spirit – driven by the opportunity to build your own successful UK entity
Desirable Qualifications / Experience

MBA or other advanced degree

Certifications in sales or business development

Experience with CRM and salesforce automation tools
